Animal Life of Shuswap National Park
There are many unique animals native to British Columbia. A lot of which we do not see ourselves in our own hometowns. They live all over British Columbia and make it the beautiful place it is.
Birds
Birds native to BC include the bald eagle, Canadian goose, blue jay, great blue heron, pacific loon, peregrine falcon, snowy owl and the spotted owl. These birds live in forests, marshy areas, mountains, oceans.
Mammals
There are a lot of different mammals native to British Columbia, such as the beaver, bighorn sheep, bison, Canadian lynx, caribou, cougar, fisher, flying squirrel, grizzly bear, kermode bear, orca whale, moose, porcupine, raccoon, red fox, sea otter, steller sea lion, wild horse, white-tailed deer, wolf and wolverine. Like the birds, they live all over British Columbia in forest areas, in the Pacific Ocean and on the coast.

The common fish of British Columbia are the rainbow trout and salmon. Both rainbow trout and salmon live in the Pacific Ocean. They are food to humans and other species like the grizzly bear.
